The F2 Centre and Enterprise Management Board was established in June 2010 as the successor to the Fatima Regeneration Board. The Regeneration Board had been responsible since 2001 for overseeing the physical, social and economic regeneration of Fatima Mansions.
With the physical project largely complete and substantial progress achieved in relation to improving the social conditions of local residents, it was agreed that a successor structure would be required to consolidate the gains made in the regeneration process, promote social integration between existing and new residents and to manage the community and enterprise facilities which have been provided as part of the regeneration infrastructure. President Michael D. Higgins, attended and addressed a conference for the launch of ‘A Local Imagine Nation – An Arts Plan for Rialto’ in the F2 Centre on 8th of December 2011. This was a landmark occasion as it involved the bringing together of representatives of the Community Sector, Dublin City authorities and Colleges in a day long exchange addressing the need for a new model of local arts provision, while also proffering the Arts Plan 2011-2016 as a practical means by which such an ambition might be achieved in a real and practical way. The Café, which is being operated by the F2 Centre here in Fatima/Herberton in partnership with the Café Togo chain provides a great selection of hot food, drinks and snacks in a relaxed setting with free wifi!
